The Perimenopause Mind Workbook

A self-guided workbook for the emotional and psychological experience of perimenopause — written by a licensed psychologist specializing in women's mental health.

What's Happening to You Is Real.

And It Makes Complete Psychological Sense.

The Problem

You didn't expect this part.

You expected the physical changes — the hot flashes, the irregular periods, the sleep disruption. What you didn't expect was the anxiety that arrives without a story. The anger that surprises you with its intensity. The moment you look in the mirror — not physically, but psychologically — and don't quite recognize who's looking back.

You didn't expect to feel like you were losing your mind.

You're not losing your mind. But something is genuinely shifting — neurologically, psychologically, and in the way you understand yourself and your place in your relationships and your life.

And almost nobody is talking about that part.

Why Existing Resources Aren’t Enough

There is no shortage of perimenopause content right now. Hormone coaches, nutritionists, OB-GYNs, wellness influencers — they're all talking about the physical experience.

Almost nobody is addressing the psychological one.

Not the neuroscience of why your anxiety feels different now. Not the identity questions this transition surfaces — who am I when I'm not who I've always been. Not the grief that belongs here, or the anger that's pointing at something real, or the relationships straining under the weight of a transition only one person in them fully understands.

That gap is what The Perimenopause Mind was built to fill.

What is The Perimenopause Mind Workbook?

The Perimenopause Mind is a six-module self-guided psychological workbook designed for women who want to understand — and navigate — the emotional and psychological landscape of perimenopause.

It's not a wellness guide. It's not a hormone protocol. It's a psychologically grounded, clinically informed framework for making sense of what you're experiencing and building the tools to work with it.

Each module includes:

  • Psychoeducational content grounded in neuroscience and clinical psychology — written in plain language, without jargon

  • Guided reflection prompts that help you apply the concepts to your specific experience

  • Evidence-based exercises drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and somatic approaches

  • A clear thread connecting each module to the next so the work builds over time

What's Inside

Module 1 — What's Happening in Your Brain The neurological and hormonal foundation. Why anxiety, mood shifts, emotional reactivity, and cognitive changes are happening — and why understanding this matters psychologically.

Module 2 — Mapping Your Emotional Landscape Building the self-knowledge to understand your specific patterns, triggers, and emotional weather system. Because your map is your own.

Module 3 — Anxiety, Irritability, and Anger A deep look at the three most disruptive emotional experiences of perimenopause — and a concrete, evidence-based regulation toolkit for working with each one.

Module 4 — Identity and Relationships The questions perimenopause surfaces about who you are, who you're becoming, and how this transition is moving through your most important connections.

Module 5 — Building Your Personalized Toolkit Integration. Taking everything from the previous four modules and building a personalized, sustainable approach that is genuinely yours.

Module 6 — When to Get More Support Honest, clinically grounded guidance on recognizing when professional support is needed — and how to find the right fit.

Who This Is For

This workbook is for you if:

  • You're in perimenopause — or suspect you might be — and the psychological and emotional changes have caught you off guard

  • You feel like you don't recognize yourself emotionally and you want to understand why

  • You're managing the physical symptoms but nobody is addressing what's happening in your mind

  • You're not ready for — or don't feel you need — individual therapy right now, but you want something more than generic wellness advice

  • You want to understand your experience from a licensed psychological perspective, on your own terms and in your own time

This workbook is not a substitute for individual therapy. If you are experiencing significant psychological distress, Module 6 includes guidance on finding professional support.

About the Author

I'm a licensed psychologist in California and Texas with a specialty in women's mental health and reproductive psychology.

I wrote The Perimenopause Mind because I kept seeing the same gap in my clinical work. Women were navigating significant psychological shifts during perimenopause — real, neurologically grounded, often deeply disorienting shifts — without any resource that addressed the psychological experience specifically and seriously.

They needed something between nothing and weekly therapy. Something that honored the complexity of what they were going through without clinical jargon or superficial reassurance.

This workbook is that something.
